VOGUE’s Guide to the Fall 2011 Collections
Edited by Virginia Smith
Among all the great clothes we’ve seen for the coming fall, from extremely embellished to utilitarian and cool, what’s impressed us the most is the emergence of a visionary new generation of designers, in both America and Europe. These talents have strong points of views on fashion and are working incredibly hard to express them. While they’re relatively young, they’re showing us that they’re not just interested in dressing downtown types. It’s not that there weren’t terrific collections from many of the most established and stalwart of names—from Marc Jacobs to Miuccia Prada, from Balenciaga to Bottega Veneta—but there is something both reassuring and exciting about seeing a whole new group of stars come up through the ranks.
